Eating Disorder Recovery

 Learning to thrive

As an eating disorder specialist, I believe fervently in the possibility of full, lasting recovery where one no longer suffers from the debilitating agony of eating disorder distortion. I am also a steadfast supporter of the Health At Every Size (HAES) movement and align strongly with the power of body positivity and size diversity.

Eating disorder recovery is a difficult and challenging process that requires immense patience and trust within the therapeutic alliance. My assertion is that eating disorders are inherently secretive, shame based, and isolative. Yet, for many, they are “comforting”, “safe”, and “protective”. In this process, we will uncover the complexities of your behaviors and examine, without judgement, what is working and what is not.

In this work I use a variety of tools and techniques that I have gathered and adapted over my 7 years as an eating disorder specialist. I do not ask people to track food, and will not push you to engage in change that you are not ready for. However, I honor that you are looking for guidance and I work hard to be both firm and supportive as we brave this journey together.
